After withdrawing from my 5k race on Thursday night, I made a verbal commitment to friends that I would run each day for the rest of the week. Check the box for Friday because that run is done!

While I don’t typically obsess over minor increments in my total mileage, today I extended my usual 5-mile run to 5.5 miles. Does that extra half-mile make a significant difference in the grand scheme of things? Probably not. However, it does align with my goal of gradually building mileage.

Even though I decided to tone it back a bit from where I was at the beginning of June, I am currently around 30 miles and I feel like 45 is probably the sweet spot for me mileage wise.
