The day after a 20.5 mile run, I am a little surprised I could walk. Even more so that I could run. However, I felt motivated enough to tag along with my family to the gym. So, I hopped on the treadmill and got in an easy 9 miles. It started out at an 8:00/mile pace – HR was around 132. It felt a little too easy, so I moved the speed up to 7:30/mile. I expected to see my HR north of 150, but instead, it hovered in the 139-144 range for the last 4.5 miles.
Quite the pleasant surprise given yesterday’s workout. It’s starting to feel like I am truly running fit and everything is coming together – but now I just need to get faster!
