Workout goal: make up for missed miles Monday and run as long as possible.

Reality: pretty much nailed it!

I ran three miles and gave up Monday – I think my legs were shot from my track session Saturday. Took off Tuesday for some extra rest, so I wanted to try to make up some miles before our friends visit this week. Weeks where we travel or people visit are the hardest to hit mileage goals, which also makes them the most important to hit.

I did 7.5 miles on the treadmill at 7:47 /mile, but my HR was getting really high over 150. So, I backed off and ran another 4 miles at 8:00 /mile, which had my HR around 140. Much better! Not the most thrilling workout, but I definitely don’t feel 100%. It’s not that I feel bad… somewhere in between. I feel that this is a pretty common theme among runners, so we just need to get to the other side of it.
